Your 4 year old has several options.

This program aligns with Maryland Model for College and Career Readiness, introducing the social and academic readiness skills to prepare children for their formal learning experience of Kindergarten.

There are four options for our 4 Year Old Program, ranging from 3 to 5 half- or full-days. Class size is generally 16 children with a Lead Teacher and Teacher Assistant.

Pre-K 3 Half-Days/Week

The 3-day Pre-K  program introduces a Kindergarten readiness skill which fully prepares children for Kindergarten. This program uses Little Treasure Curriculum. It is a wonderful option, allowing children to explore outside activities outside of school with family.

Children must be 4 years old before September 1.

Pre-K Extended Days/Week

This option is an extended day option which introduces Kindergarten readiness skills that fully prepares children for Kindergarten, using the Little Treasures Curriculum. This option offers a longer day, with lunch and recess included. The longer day allows for more in-depth hands-on exploration of subject matter and allows for a bit more play time during the day. Child Development experts agree that children learn best through play.

Children must be 4 years old before September 1.

Pre-K 5 Days/Week

Traditional 5-day Pre-K introduces Kindergarten readiness skills that fully prepares children for Kindergarten. Our 5 day program uses Investigator Club Curriculum.

Children must be 5 years old before March 1 or have approval of the director.

Pre-K 4 Days/Week

This program allows children to attend the traditional 5-day program in 4 days, allowing one day a week to spend at home with family.

Meet our Pre-K Teachers

Tamera Kronenwetter

Mrs. Kronenwetter


Mrs. Kronenwetter is originally from North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. (Go Tarheels!) She moved to Maryland in 1984. Mrs. Kronenwetter has two adult children, both of whom came through Asbury’s Clubhouse program. Mrs. Kronenwetter joined the staff of Asbury in 1997. She first worked in the Extended Care and the school age Clubhouse program. Mrs. Kronenwetter taught the 3-Day Fours and Kindergarten programs before her current position as the 4-Day Fours Teacher. She is also a Group Leader for the School Age Clubhouse program.

Mrs. Judy Garrett

Mrs. Garrett lived in England, France, North Carolina, and Virginia until 2nd grade when her father left the Air Force.  She grew up in La Plata, Maryland. Mrs. Garrett obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson State University in 1980.  She obtained her Reading Teacher Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland, University College in 1986.  Mrs. Garrett has taught preschool, kindergarten and first grade.  She has worked in St. Mary’s, Charles and Anne Arundel County. She began working at Asbury in 2018. Mrs. Garrett is looking forward to working with the 3-Day Fours and kindergarten Clubhouse children.  She enjoys spending time with her daughters and parents. Mrs. Garrett also enjoys searching for sea glass, reading and creating crafts. 



Chrissy Venditti

Mrs. Chrissy Venditti


Mrs. Venditti is originally from the Philadelphia suburbs, where she obtained her undergraduate degree from West Chester University in Pennsylvania.  She and her husband moved to the Houston, Texas suburbs, where she obtained her Texas teaching certificate through an alternative certification program and taught for almost 10 years.  She obtained her ESL and Gifted/Talented certification as well.  Chrissy and her family moved back to the northeast in the summer to be closer to their extended families.  She has three beautiful children: Matthew and Juliet, who attend Belvedere Elementary; and Isabel who is at Asbury.  Chrissy and her husband, John, have been married for almost 14 years.

Interest: Traveling, running and hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Jennifer Beninante

Mrs. Amber Joyce


Mrs. Joyce earned her Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Utah before moving to Texas to begin her family. A native Marylander, she and her husband were thrilled to return to Annapolis in 2000 to raise their five sons. She has worked at Asbury in the 3’s, the 4’s and the Pre-K program for the last 10 years. She loves being a part of the Asbury extended family and sharing her love of God, reading, nature, paint, music, and fun with her students. In her spare time, she enjoys running, traveling, the Olympics, and warm chocolate chip cookies.

Mrs. Colleen Bitner

 Mrs. Bitner is originally from Pennsylvania. She grew up in a family of teachers and knew she wanted to be a teacher since she was a little girl. She graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. She moved to Maryland in 2006 and taught Kindergarten in Anne Arundel County Public School for several years. She has two children: Virginia, who attends Broadneck Elementary; and Rocco who is at Asbury. In her spare time she enjoys baking, reading, drinking coffee on her patio, going to the library, and strolling the aisles of Target.
