Our Curriculum

Asbury Christian Preschool is thrilled to be using the Children discover their World Curricula. Children Discovering Their World (CDW) is a series of early childhood curricula developed by the Center for Early Childhood Education and Intervention (CECEI) at the University of Maryland, with funding from the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood.  

Our program is intentionally designed to develop critical thinkers by fostering curiosity, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning. Through project-based experiences and intentional teaching strategies, children are encouraged to ask questions, make connections, analyze information, and apply their learning in meaningful ways. This approach supports the development of foundational academic skills while preparing children to meet the demands of today’s evolving educational landscape.

The program follows a project-based, child-directed approach to learning. The curriculum is grounded in mathematics and science and provides structured opportunities for the development of literacy, fine arts, social-emotional skills, and physical movement. Teaching teams implement curricula that are developmentally appropriate for each age group. The three-year-old classrooms utilize the Children Explore Their World curriculum, while the four-year-old classrooms utilize the Children Study Their World curriculum.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Our two-year-old classrooms implement The Creative Curriculum, with selected elements of the Children Explore Their World curriculum thoughtfully integrated. Each curriculum provides developmentally appropriate approaches to learning that support the unique needs of this age group.
